I am a visual artist, sculptor, photographer, researcher, feminist, surrealist and theorist; but we don’t really need to label anything just yet.
I believe that theory plays an important role in the creative process. When it comes to practice and creating an artwork, there has to be some form of theoretical backing. I am extremely passionate about researching and writing about other artists, the more that I research and learn from different artists the more I find that I can understand my own thoughts and being as an artist.
Majoring in sculpture has allowed me to appreciate the value of patience and concentration. This is in addition to showing me that there is always more than meets the eye, the uncertainty of something is always almost certain. I work mainly with sculpture installations, which are an attempt to make sense of my thoughts, and personal experiences. I guess you could say my works are apart of my own visual autobiography.
