I aspire to create paintings that remind viewers of the transience of life, the uselessness of pleasure, and the certainty of death. By exploring the themes of Vanitas art and applying it to my own everyday life and personal experiences as a creative practitioner, my work is a response to my familiarities with the passing of time, my pursuit of curing chronic pain and the ephemeral nature of life.

My artworks ask why our quality of life so important to us if death is unavoidable? Perishable items, insects and medicinal imagery are recurring themes in my works and communicate a means of altering perceptions and providing short-lived cures that are useless in death.
