I’m never without a sketchbook or camera in hand so I am constantly drawing
or capturing moments and sometimes the drawings are left in the sketchbook and other times they develop into more in-depth ideas and detailed images.
I don’t set out to be an idealistic artist or to create work relating to social commentary but as my portfolio develops the descriptions start to emerge and I begin to notice a pattern. My work tends to focus on human memories, personal experiences and the histories of my community. Every time an artwork is created the aim of the art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance.
